CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

As a consultancy business focused on environmental standards, we have our own Corporate, Social, Environmental, Sustainability commitments and practices. We strive to do the best for all those interacting with us or affected by our business activities within the company, throughout the supply chain and the local community.

Our Commitments and practices:

AIMS Consultancy are committed to making the most sustainable choices throughout our business activities, which greatly helps to reduce both our direct, and indirect impacts on the natural environment.

Local Community, Businesses & Charity:

Where possible we support local businesses in and around the vicinity of where we work, and live. We also actively support a variety of charities, including the mental health charity MIND, British Heart Foundation, and the Woodland Trust.

Environmental, Waste and Carbon Reduction:

Our environmental ethos in the workplace is conveyed to all our staff, and we have introduced the following steps:

  • Issuing of reusable water bottles to our staff if requested, and discourage the use of single use plastics
  • Limited printing, electronic copies of documentation preferred (printers now removed from offices)
  • Conducting remote audits/meetings where possible to prevent unnecessary journeys, helping to minimise our carbon footprint
  • If travel to a client office/site is required, we try to combine jobs within one area
  • Opting to use the lowest CO2 method of travel practicable;
    • Walking or Cycling
    • Train, bus, or other public transport
    • Using trains to avoid flying within the U.K.
    • Adopting efficient driving techniques if travel by car is unavoidable
    • Taxi’s not used, unless pre-authorised and only within a remote location/if there are limited public transport links
  • Utilising recycling facilities, and adopting a re-use/reduce approach

In addition, we have available ‘home environmental tips’ that are periodically communicated to staff, have been thought of by staff.

Sustainability:

We believe that our awareness, and commitments towards helping to create a more sustainable future should not be limited to the workplace and we also encourage our staff to be mindful of the environment, awareness and supporting businesses and communities locally.

Some staff have committed to the following at home:

  • Use of cloth tote bags or re-usable shopping bags
  • Purchasing fruit and veg from local greengrocers and those which are in season (walking to collect groceries where possible)
  • Use surplus water to water plants/flowers (i.e. installing water butts)
  • Investment in Green savings bonds: https://www.nsandi.com/green-saving

Modern Slavery, Anti-Bribery and Human Trafficking:

We have a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery, bribery and human trafficking. Any form of potential breach of legislation can be reported to management at anytime, and in confidence. We have policies in place where required and our processes include internal checks inclusive of right to work checks. We confirm we do not fall into the requirement to publish a modern slavery statement each financial year.

Supply Chain:

We encourage our team, suppliers, associates to share ideas of best practice and raise awareness wherever possible.

Further information on the above can be provided upon request.
